Reality of Landing A Job with Zero Experience!

It is undeniable that increases of unemployment rate shocks worldwide as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The phenomena of infectious disease led to huge impact, especially on the quality of daily life and declines in businesses. It affects country’s economy and cause many workers were laid off. It can be a welcoming ‘disaster’ for new entries and those who just graduated with zero experience that dreaming to get their job. Here, I would love to share the formula with you all that most of us take it lightly in landing a job. Here we go;

  1. UTILIZE INTERNET RESOURCE

As a job hunter, you can make the best use of internet resources and technological sophistication for the purpose of researching and collecting information about the jobs you want to pursue after schooling or university graduates. The purpose of research and gather information is crucial. This will help you in various aspects including when attending the interview. But make sure in the middle of the process of collecting information, you need to ensure the reliability and validity of every piece information you gathered. It’s to avoid any manipulated data or scams that could gives terrible effect later on. The value of right information is worth for life.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in fully utilization of online/ digital job application platforms to prevent infection, both in public and private sectors. Thus, you need to update frequently the progress of your personal data/portfolio digitally because all application feedback will be made digitally solely. First, without experience we will not be able to work on responsibilities better. Second, companies will face difficulties in hiring employees in order to provide training.

Yes! At the same time, I listen to your response, if not given an opportunity, where can you get the experience? True, that's why you need to re-design your expectations. Here, you are insisting on not focus too much on finances, but apply for challenging jobs, we ultimately fail to overcome due to our inability to commit. High income is paid for the competence of individuals in the field. So, it is better to change perceptions and take up the challenge first before expecting a higher job. Focus on acquiring knowledge, such as soft skills knowledge, technology knowledge, knowledge of industrial revolution 4.0, improve self -quality. By doing so, it will be able to improve your career performance in the future.

Based on the National Statistics Department (2021) Malaysia, the unemployment rate rose to 4.8% (June 2021) from 4.5% (May 2021). This shows you need to be prepared to be competitive in this era of globalization and pandemic. Finally, my prayer will be there for all of you, put up your effort and trust.
